We did it! We made it through our first week of Kindergarten together – and what a successful week it was! First of all, thank you to everyone that came to our Kindergarten Slow Start Day. It was such an important day to be with your child and help them ease into their official first day.
The kindergarteners have been very busy learning classroom routines and procedures. We practiced using paper, pencils, crayons and even paint through guided discovery. We will continue to practice routines and learn more about the tools in the classroom that help us learn in the next few weeks. Kindergarteners are beginning to discuss how we learn our best and will create classroom rules next week that support comfortable, positive, and safe learning environments.
Most importantly, we have been learning the names and faces of all of our new friends! We are doing this by building relationships through morning meeting greetings, sharing, and activities. Today we got to go outside to celebrate our first week! We played Duck, Duck, Grey Duck and got to explore the playground. (PM Class pictures coming soon…)
Here is the first Peek of the Week. Please make sure to select your child’s teacher as they are all a bit different.
We also sent hard copies home to ALL students this week. Next week they will be sent by request only. Have a wonderful weekend!
The blog looks great! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. 🙂
Thank you for your kind words! We are glad you are enjoying the blog. It is a great way to connect with families.
